Microsoft adds remote PC power control to Android Link to Windows app
Microsoft has introduced new power management features to the beta version of its Link to Windows app for Android devices. This update allows users to remotely manage their Windows PCs through their smartphones.
In the latest beta version (1.26101.103.0), a new ‘Power’ button replaces the previous ‘Lock PC’ function. This button provides four specific options: locking the PC, putting it into sleep mode, shutting it down, or restarting the system. The app includes warning messages to alert users that shutting down or restarting remotely could result in the loss of unsaved work.
Additionally, the update enables users to manage pending Windows updates remotely. Users can select options to ‘Update and shut down’ or ‘Update and restart,’ allowing for system maintenance without needing direct access to the computer.
