Microsoft and Kaspersky introduce security measures for AI agents

As organizations rapidly adopt artificial intelligence, security firms are introducing tools to manage the risks associated with AI agents and Shadow AI.

Microsoft is utilizing its security ecosystem, including Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Agent 365, and Microsoft Entra, to help enterprises discover and govern AI workloads. These tools aim to prevent unauthorized use of generative AI services and monitor AI agents that may have excessive permissions to sensitive data.

Similarly, Kaspersky has updated its products to counter threats from AI agents. By adding profiles to the Kaspersky Threat Intelligence Portal, the company aims to describe how attackers exploit these tools. Kaspersky’s Endpoint Detection and Response solutions are designed to detect the presence of AI agents, track their activity, and identify dangerous behaviors, allowing for actions such as blocking suspicious processes or isolating hosts.
