Microsoft Announces Copilot Super App to Unite AI Chat, Code, Collaboration and Autopilot

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella confirmed that the company will launch a Copilot “Super App” later this year, merging its four AI capabilities—Chat, Code, Cowork and Autopilot—into a single platform for both consumer and business users. The announcement was made during Microsoft’s fiscal Q4 2026 earnings call, where Nadella said the move is intended to eliminate the need for users to switch between separate Copilot tools.

The integrated app will combine the chat‑based assistant, GitHub‑powered coding help, AI‑enhanced document collaboration, and autonomous agents that can perform tasks on a user’s behalf. While the rollout timeline, pricing and licensing details remain unclear, the project, internally dubbed “One Copilot,” aims to streamline access across Microsoft 365, Windows, Teams, Edge and other services. Microsoft highlighted its large user base—about 450 million Microsoft 365 customers and roughly 30 million paid Copilot subscribers—as a foundation for the new offering.

The initiative positions Microsoft to compete directly with other AI‑super‑app efforts from OpenAI and Anthropic, seeking to capture more user time on a single platform and strengthen its lead in enterprise AI adoption.
