Microsoft Copilot reaches 30 million paid users amid enterprise expansion

Microsoft has announced that its Microsoft 365 Copilot has surpassed 30 million paid users, with the number of new seats increasing more than twofold compared to the previous quarter. The expansion reflects a shift in corporate focus from mere AI usage to measurable work transformation through autonomous agent functions like Copilot Cowork and Microsoft Scout.

In the Philippines, telecommunications provider PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications have partnered with Microsoft to integrate AI into their workforce. Following the acquisition of 1,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses, the companies are applying the technology to automate tasks such as drafting communications, summarizing meetings, and supporting finance and procurement reviews. The rollout includes employee training and governance measures to expand AI usage into network operations and enterprise services.

Global enterprise adoption is accelerating, with companies like S&P Global Commodity Insights reporting significant speed increases in data extraction and analysis. In Japan, Microsoft’s own sales teams reported that role-based agents helped double customer response times and improve sales by 9.4 percent.
