Microsoft develops new battery widget for Windows 11
Microsoft is developing a new native battery widget for Windows 11 that allows users to monitor the power levels of both their PC and connected wireless peripherals in one place. Found in recent preview builds, the feature is intended to appear on both the Widgets board and the Lock Screen.
The widget is designed to display a vertical list including the computer's battery status followed by connected devices such as mice, keyboards, and headphones. Each entry will show the device name, an icon, the exact battery percentage, and whether the device is currently charging or using energy saver mode. This update aims to bring Windows 11 closer to the hardware monitoring convenience already found in mobile operating systems like Android and iOS.
