Microsoft Enables Indefinite Update Pause in Windows 11 and Highlights LTSC Edition

Microsoft has added a new option in Windows 11 that lets users pause system updates indefinitely. Starting with build KB5095093, the operating system allows users to select a specific date up to 35 days in the future, after which they can reset the pause for another 35 days, effectively creating an endless postponement cycle. This replaces the previous limit of a five‑week pause that automatically resumed updates.

Separately, Windows 11 LTSC (Long‑Term Servicing Channel) continues to attract interest from professionals and organizations that prioritize stability over new features. LTSC editions—Enterprise and IoT Enterprise—receive only security patches and bug fixes, avoiding frequent feature changes. They are intended for long‑running deployments such as industrial terminals, ATMs, medical devices, and other critical infrastructure where uninterrupted operation is essential.
