Microsoft enables taskbar repositioning in Windows 11

Microsoft has introduced an update to Windows 11 that allows users to move the taskbar to the top, left, or right edges of the screen. This feature, arriving via the KB5124008 update, is available for Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2.

Users can adjust the taskbar position through the Settings menu under Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. The system automatically adjusts animations, tooltips, and flyout panels to match the selected orientation. While the taskbar can no longer be dragged with a mouse like in Windows 10, the new settings provide more flexibility for users with ultrawide monitors by maximizing vertical screen space.
