Microsoft ends support for Windows 11 24H2 in October 2026
Microsoft will stop providing security updates for the Windows 11 24H2 edition for Home and Pro users on 13 October 2026, while Enterprise and Education editions will continue receiving updates until 12 October 2027. The company advises consumers and businesses to treat the coming quarters as a migration window and upgrade to the newer Windows 11 25H2 or the upcoming 26H2 release.
In parallel, Microsoft is addressing technical issues such as a memory‑consuming bug in a Capability‑Access update and is testing new rollout controls to ease deployment for IT teams. The extended support timeline for enterprise customers aims to give organizations more planning flexibility and to meet audit requirements when systems move out of the support window.
