Microsoft executive Ryan Roslansky to depart company in 2026
Ryan Roslansky, the executive who led LinkedIn and recently oversaw Microsoft’s Office productivity group, will depart Microsoft at the end of 2026. The announcement was made by CEO Satya Nadella in a memo to employees, noting that Roslansky is leaving the organization in a strong position.
Roslansky joined LinkedIn in 2009 as product chief and became CEO in 2020, succeeding Jeff Weiner. Under his leadership, LinkedIn’s membership grew from 700 million to 1.3 billion. In 2025, his responsibilities expanded to include Microsoft 365 applications and the Copilot artificial intelligence platform.
Roslansky indicated that his decision to leave was influenced by a desire to remain in the Bay Area rather than relocating full-time to Microsoft’s headquarters near Seattle. His departure comes amid a broader leadership reshuffle at Microsoft as the company pivots toward generative AI technologies.
