Microsoft expands AI features and sees cloud-driven growth
Microsoft is expanding its technological capabilities through both software innovations and strong financial performance driven by artificial intelligence and cloud services.
On the technical front, Microsoft is extending its Auto Super Resolution (Auto SR) AI-upscaling feature to Copilot+ PCs equipped with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors (codenamed Panther Lake). This technology uses AI to enhance the visual quality of video games while conserving system resources. The feature supports input resolutions up to 1080p and is compatible with DirectX 10, 11, and 12 titles. Users require Windows 11 version 24H2 and a minimum 1080p monitor to utilize the software, which is available via the Microsoft Store.
Financially, Microsoft is positioned as a potential candidate to reach a $5 trillion market capitalization, fueled by the growth of Azure and Microsoft 365 Copilot. In its fiscal fourth quarter ending June 30, 2026, the company reported revenue of $90 billion, an 18 percent increase. Azure revenue grew 43 percent in the quarter, and Microsoft 365 Copilot has reached over 30 million paying users. CEO Satya Nadella noted that customer demand continues to exceed available capacity, with Azure growth projected at approximately 45 percent for the upcoming quarter.
