Microsoft expands Copilot AI suite with new Forms chat and iPad text tools
Microsoft has added deeper AI functionality to its Microsoft 365 Copilot suite. In Microsoft Forms, users can now create surveys through a Copilot chat, have the assistant analyse responses and suggest branching logic, enabling dynamic decision flows. The rollout, scheduled for 7‑8 July 2024, is initially aimed at business customers, with pricing of roughly €16.50 per user per month for the Business plan and €29.50 for Business Premium.
A separate enhancement brings Copilot‑powered text editing to Word on iPad, allowing users to rewrite, summarise, translate and preserve document formatting directly on the mobile client. The new features are part of Microsoft’s broader strategy to embed AI agents across its productivity applications, including writing assistance in Word, data analysis in Excel, slide generation in PowerPoint, email drafting in Outlook, meeting summaries in Teams, system‑level assistance in Windows, image generation, and code completion via GitHub Copilot. While most capabilities are enterprise‑focused, the iPad text tools are available to all iPad users with a Copilot license.
