Microsoft fixes Windows 11 mouse stuttering bug in gaming
Microsoft has released a Windows 11 update to resolve a bug that caused mouse stuttering, lagging, and uncontrolled camera movements during gameplay. For months, gamers reported issues where the cursor would jump or become unresponsive in various titles, leading many to mistakenly believe the fault lay with their hardware, drivers, or settings.
In the release notes for the October cumulative security update, identified as KB5127648, Microsoft officially acknowledged the issue, stating, “This update fixes a problem that could cause stuttering in mouse input in some games.” While Microsoft has not provided a comprehensive list of affected software, user reports have highlighted issues in titles such as “Star Wars: The Old Republic,” “Final Fantasy XIV,” and “Tom Clancy’s The Division 2.”
The fix is distributed through the standard Windows Update function. Users can ensure the issue is resolved by manually checking for updates in the Windows Update settings and restarting their systems.
