Microsoft issues June 2026 Windows security patch and ExplorerPatcher 26100.8457.70.2 update
Microsoft released its June 2026 Patchday updates for Windows 10 and Windows 11, delivering cumulative security fixes, quality improvements and new features. Highlights include enhanced Explorer search with Chinese text support, a Secure Boot policy to limit data transmission, and a fix for Hyper‑V and KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED errors on affected devices.
At the same time, the third‑party tool ExplorerPatcher introduced version 26100.8457.70.2 as a final release. The update adds a new engine for arranging the ten tiles in the Windows 11 start menu, a blacklist for executable filenames to block certain shell extensions, and several task‑bar and start‑menu bug fixes, including a dead‑lock resolution and ARM64 animation updates.
Both releases are expected to be distributed through Windows Update, the Microsoft Update Catalog and WSUS, and aim to improve system stability and security for users of the still‑supported Windows 10 and Windows 11 builds.
