Microsoft launches Contact Center Intelligence in public preview

Microsoft has introduced Contact Center Intelligence (CCI) in public preview, an AI-driven layer designed to enhance existing contact center platforms without requiring organizations to replace their current systems. The service utilizes Microsoft IQ to integrate customer conversations with CRM data, enterprise knowledge bases, and organizational insights to provide context for AI agents.

The platform features three primary agent types: a Customer Assist Agent for self-service and real-time representative support, a Quality Assurance Agent to monitor compliance and brand standards, and a forthcoming Service Operations Agent to optimize center operations. CCI offers voice and digital self-service, voice biometric authentication, and integrates with over 1,700 connectors, including those for Cisco Webex, Avaya, Five9, Genesys, and ServiceNow.

Early adopters of the technology include Siemens Healthineers and Thomas Jefferson University. By allowing businesses to layer AI capabilities onto existing investments, Microsoft aims to provide rapid value while potentially facilitating future migrations to its Dynamics 365 Contact Center.
