Microsoft launches Microsoft 365 E7 Frontier Suite
Microsoft has introduced a new top-tier commercial offering called 'Microsoft 365 E7: The Frontier Suite,' available since May 1, 2026. The package carries a list price of 99 USD per user per month and bundles Microsoft 365 E5, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Agent 365, and the Entra Suite.
Analysis by the Lighthouse Alliance, a group of over 50 license managers in the DACH region, suggests the suite's value is highly dependent on an organization's level of AI maturity. Their calculations indicate that the significant price jump in the E7 tier is largely driven by the inclusion of Copilot rather than the benefits of the suite bundling itself.
Additionally, the group clarified the role of Agent 365, noting it functions as a governance and control layer—providing registry, access control, and security functions for AI agents via Entra, Defender, and Purview—rather than being a development environment for building agents.
