Microsoft launches referral program to promote Edge browser

Microsoft has launched a new referral initiative aimed at increasing the user base of its Microsoft Edge browser. Through this program, users can earn Microsoft Rewards points by inviting friends or family to try Edge on mobile devices, such as iPhone or Android.

Successful referrals grant both the inviter and the new user 500 points. Participants can earn up to 7,500 points per month, with an annual cap of 90,000 points. To qualify, the referred individual must be a first-time Edge mobile user who signs in and performs a web search on two separate days within their first two weeks.

Accumulated points can be redeemed for various products and services in the Microsoft Store, including Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, Windows 11 apps, and Surface hardware. In the United States, the program also includes a chance to enter a $2 million prize draw.
