Microsoft announced the global launch of the Surface Pro 12, its flagship 2-in-1 device powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 processors. The lineup offers a 10‑core Plus variant and a 12‑core Elite version, with memory options ranging from 16 GB to 64 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage from 256 GB to 1 TB SSD. Buyers can choose between a 120 Hz OLED panel capable of 900 nits HDR brightness or an IPS display, both at 600 nits SDR. Battery life is rated up to 11.5 hours of continuous web use, and the device retains the familiar Surface Connect charging port.

The entry‑level configuration – Snapdragon X2 Plus, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, and IPS screen – starts at $1,499, roughly a 50 % price jump from the previous generation. The Surface Laptop 8, refreshed with the same chipset, begins at $1,599. Analysts attribute the higher pricing to ongoing component shortages that have driven up PC costs across the industry, making premium devices less accessible to many consumers.
