Microsoft limits Surface hardware while Apple develops MacBook Neo 2

Microsoft is currently excluding AMD processors from its Surface laptop lineup, opting instead for Snapdragon, Intel, and potentially NVIDIA RTX Spark solutions. Brett Ostrum, Microsoft's Vice President for Surface, stated that while the company maintains a positive relationship with AMD, the limited number of Surface devices requires careful selection of hardware platforms to manage design, testing, and support costs.

Separately, reports regarding Apple's budget-friendly MacBook Neo suggest that work is underway on a second-generation model, potentially slated for release in early 2027. Leaks indicate the MacBook Neo 2 may feature the A19 Pro chip, an upgrade to 12 GB of RAM, and new color options.
