Microsoft prioritizes AI infrastructure over Xbox Cloud Gaming

Microsoft is reportedly facing a strategic conflict regarding its infrastructure usage, potentially prioritizing Artificial Intelligence applications over Xbox Cloud Gaming. This shift comes as Xbox Ultimate customers face a new limit of 15 hours of cloud gaming per month.

This monthly limit, averaging roughly 30 minutes per day, poses significant challenges for users attempting to replace traditional consoles with cloud-based hardware. For modern single-player titles, particularly large-scale RPGs or open-world games that often exceed 30 hours of playtime, the 15-hour cap necessitates either spreading gameplay over multiple months or purchasing additional hours. While the impact is estimated to affect approximately four percent of the user base, these are typically the players who rely most heavily on cloud services.
