Microsoft prolongs Windows 10 security updates in Europe to October 2027
Microsoft has quietly extended its Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for Windows 10 users in Europe by an additional year. The support now runs until 12 October 2027, two years longer than initially planned, after pressure from consumer group Euroconsumers. Unlike the United States and other regions where users must pay for extended updates, the extra year is offered free of charge to European customers, saving households roughly 1 400 CZK.
In parallel, a Slovak online retailer is advertising steep discounts on Microsoft software. Microsoft Office Home & Business 2021 for Mac is sold for €44.99, and various Windows licences—including Windows 11 Professional for as low as €12.25—are offered at reduced one‑time prices. The promotions target individual users, families, and small businesses seeking full‑featured Office and Windows products without subscription fees.
