Microsoft releases Windows 11 updates enhancing update progress and accessibility

Microsoft has issued new Windows 11 builds to address two distinct areas of the operating system. Build 26200.8968 and 26100.8968, released to the Release Preview channel, fix inaccurate update‑progress indicators and reduce post‑install slowdown by refining the Windows Update Orchestrator and Arbiter components. These updates arrive after a recent outage that blocked Windows 11 updates across both the standard Windows Update interface and the Microsoft Update Catalog.

In a separate release, build 28020.2539 for the Beta (26H1) channel focuses on accessibility. It adds extensive Narrator improvements and native support for HID‑compatible refreshable braille displays, allowing plug‑and‑play USB connections and easier Bluetooth pairing. For the first time, supported braille devices can be used during the Out‑of‑Box Experience, enabling deaf‑blind users to complete initial Windows setup unaided. Supported devices include the Orbit Reader 20, Orbit Slate 340, Freedom Scientific Focus 40, APH Mantis, and Q40.
