Microsoft has announced the general availability of Windows Server 2025 and System Center 2025. As the latest Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) release, Windows Server 2025 is designed as a high-performing, AI-capable platform featuring security advancements and new hybrid cloud capabilities.
The release includes several editions: Standard, Datacenter, and Datacenter: Azure Edition. While these editions share core roles such as Active Directory, Hyper-V, Failover Clustering, and IIS, they differ in specific capacities. The Datacenter editions offer unlimited virtual machines, Storage Spaces Direct, Network Controller for software-defined networking (SDN), and expanded Storage Replica limits compared to the Standard edition.
