Microsoft releases WSLC for Linux container management on Windows
Microsoft has officially released WSLC, a new feature designed to run Linux containers directly under Windows with enhanced environment isolation. Moving beyond the traditional WSL approach, WSLC utilizes the new 'wslc.exe' command to manage containers.
To ensure data separation, each session and container uses its own virtual hard disk in VHD format. The architecture also introduces a specialized networking model tailored specifically for Linux container communication. Microsoft has released WSLC as an open-source component, with the source code available on GitHub via the official WSL project.
