Microsoft retires Perspectives peer‑feedback tool amid performance review overhaul

Microsoft announced that it will retire the Perspectives peer‑feedback platform, which has been in use since 2018. The internal memo says the tool will stop accepting new feedback requests, though employees can still respond to existing ones and export their feedback history until September 15.

The change is part of a broader overhaul of Microsoft’s performance‑review system, which will simplify ratings into five categories and place greater emphasis on informal, in‑the‑moment conversations. At the same time, the company is flattening parts of its organization and reducing the number of senior engineering positions.
