Microsoft rolls out new Windows 11 admin tool and tighter Azure certifications

Microsoft announced a new IT‑administration tool for Windows 11 aimed at reducing configuration‑drift in large enterprise environments. The tool adds update and compliance monitoring for specific Windows 11 editions. In parallel, Microsoft released Intune Service Release 2607 with native registry inventory support and expanded Samsung firmware update management. Azure certification exams, notably AZ‑104, have been tightened to emphasize Entra ID identity management, Azure Policy and role‑based access control, accounting for up to a quarter of the exam weight.

Security vendor Greenbone introduced a set of compliance scans aligned with four CIS Benchmarks covering Microsoft Office, SQL Server, and Windows Server 2022/2025. These scans integrate with the OpenVAS Enterprise feed to detect insecure configurations and help organizations meet EU regulatory requirements such as NIS2, DORA, GDPR and the upcoming Cyber Resilience Act.

Both announcements target German and broader European enterprises seeking to modernise cloud‑based infrastructure while adhering to stricter security and governance standards.
