Microsoft rolls out OneDrive Photos app to Windows 11 PCs
Microsoft has quietly released a new OneDrive Photos app for Windows 11, delivered through a OneDrive update rather than a separate installer. The company says the app is "already generally available today, and we’re now previewing its new gallery as ‘Photos (Preview)’ for Windows Insiders in the Experimental channel," yet it appears on regular production PCs.
The app lets users view, organize and edit photos stored in OneDrive. It offers categories such as Moments, Gallery, People, Albums, Favorites and This PC, and uses facial‑recognition to group images of the same person. Basic editing tools include cropping, brightness adjustment and filters, plus options to share, delete or open images in other apps.
