Microsoft stock gains as institutional investors boost holdings

E Fund Management Hong Kong Co. Ltd. increased its Microsoft position by 32.4% in the latest quarter, holding 16,561 shares valued at about $8.0 million, which represents roughly 3.4% of its portfolio and makes Microsoft its sixth‑largest holding. ProShare Advisors LLC raised its stake by 21.9%, now owning 5,790,914 shares worth roughly $2.8 billion, about 4.9% of its portfolio and its third‑largest holding. Both stake increases were disclosed in recent SEC 13F filings. The moves occur as Microsoft’s share price rose modestly, opening at $428.05, after the company reported $82.89 billion revenue and $4.27 earnings per share for the most recent quarter. Institutional investors collectively own about 71% of Microsoft’s shares.
