Microsoft to end Office 2021 support in 2026

Microsoft has confirmed that official support for Office 2021 will end on October 13, 2026. After this date, applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will no longer receive security updates or extended support programs.

While the software will continue to function and documents will remain accessible, the lack of security patches increases vulnerability to attacks via shared documents, email attachments, and malicious macros.

To address this, ACROS Security has announced that its 0patch platform will provide critical security updates for Office 2021. This third-party solution aims to extend the software's secure lifespan until at least October 2029 by applying fixes directly to the system's RAM during process execution, avoiding the need for file modifications or system restarts.
