Microsoft updates Copilot Studio with new AI memory features

Microsoft has announced updates to Copilot Studio, introducing preview features designed to enhance the context-awareness of AI agents. The “Memory” feature allows AI agents to retain information from past interactions, such as user preferences and patterns, reducing the need for repetitive instructions. Additionally, the “Work IQ” preview enables agents to connect to organizational context, including emails, calendar schedules, files, and Microsoft Teams messages, to provide more relevant assistance within a professional environment.

Separately, reports circulating on social media claiming that Windows 11 generative AI features cause decreased gaming and streaming performance have been identified as false. The claims suggested that enabling “Text and Image Generation” settings negatively impacted system performance. However, these features are specifically designed for Copilot+ PCs with high-performance NPUs and operate using local models. Experts note that the misinformation appears to have originated from sources attempting to sell performance-tuning tools.
