Microsoft Windows 11 availability and licensing updates

Microsoft Windows 11 is available as a free upgrade for compatible devices, though the operating system has introduced stricter hardware requirements. Users with older processors, such as certain sixth-generation Intel Core models, may find their systems incompatible according to official lists. While workarounds exist to bypass these checks, Microsoft indicates that such methods may result in a lack of official support and future updates.

In a separate development, a lifetime license for Windows 11 Professional is being offered through the StackSocial platform for approximately 9.97 US dollars. This promotional price is significantly lower than the standard 199 US dollar retail price and is reportedly available until November 1. The license includes professional features such as BitLocker, Hyper-V, Windows Sandbox, and the Copilot AI assistant, but it is restricted to activation on a single compatible PC.
