Microsoft Windows 11 update triggers BSODs, OneDrive issues on HP PCs

Microsoft’s June 2026 Patch Tuesday released Windows 11 updates KB5094126 and KB5093998, along with dynamic updates KB5094149, KB5095971 and KB5094156. Users and IT administrators reported blue‑screen errors (code 0xc0430001), system freezes, unexpected BitLocker recovery prompts, and failures of OneDrive and Dropbox in Windows Explorer. The problems are most frequent on HP laptops, with some reports from Lenovo devices, and are linked to the renewal of Secure Boot certificates and the presence of the boot.stl file in custom WinPE installation media.

Microsoft has not listed the issue in its known‑problems documentation. It advises administrators to use the Update WinPE script to ensure the correct boot.stl file is included, or to manually copy the file from Windows\Boot\EFI. IT departments are recommended to roll out the updates in phases and monitor for BitLocker or cloud‑service disruptions, especially where User Account Control settings have been altered.
