Microsoft Windows KB5094126 Update Triggers Widespread Bugs
Microsoft confirmed that the June 2026 Patch Tuesday update KB5094126, mandatory for Windows 11 26H1/25H2/24H2/23H2, Windows 10 22H2, LTSC/LTSB editions and Windows Server 2012‑2025, introduces a series of defects. The patch breaks OLE automation used by third‑party software, causing Office applications to crash when invoked programmatically, and it corrupts the Recycle Bin display so that deletion dialogs show internal file identifiers (e.g., “$R4ABC12”) instead of real names.
Additional serious issues include BitLocker recovery loops and frequent blue‑screen crashes on certain HP EliteBook, ProBook and ZBook models, as well as OneDrive shortcuts failing on domain‑joined PCs. Microsoft has acknowledged the Recycle Bin and Office automation problems and plans a fix for July 14, while other bugs remain unaddressed.
