Microsoft Xbox confirms continued support for Steam

Rumors that Xbox would abandon Steam were unfounded. Microsoft clarified that it has no plans to stop releasing games on the Steam platform and will maintain its presence there in the near term.

At the same time, the company is expanding its own PC gaming ecosystem. Initiatives include a stronger Xbox app for Windows, broader Game Pass integration, tighter links with Battle.net, and the upcoming Project Positron to convert physical discs to digital licenses. These moves aim to reach players on PC without forcing a shift away from Steam.
