Microsoft Xbox to launch a family of devices for next generation

Microsoft is planning to expand its next-generation Xbox hardware beyond a single console. During an internal meeting, Xbox head Asha Sharma described the tenth generation as a ‘family of devices’ rather than a solitary product.

While a traditional high-performance console will be released first, Sharma noted that Microsoft intends to cater to mobile gamers. This strategy includes developing some hardware in-house while forming partnerships for other devices. The initiative, referred to as Project Helix, aims to bridge the gap between console and PC gaming.

Project Helix is expected to utilize an AMD System-on-Chip (SoC) and will support both Xbox and PC titles. Microsoft reportedly plans to begin delivering alpha hardware to developers starting in 2027.
