MicroStrategy boosts Bitcoin holdings to 845,050 coins
MicroStrategy has increased its total Bitcoin holdings to 845,050 coins following a $370 million purchase of 4,603 Bitcoins in late August, ending a 10-week buying pause. The company’s Bitcoin position is valued at approximately $65 billion to $68 billion.
Executive Chairman Michael Saylor and CEO Phong Le noted that the company now holds the second-largest reserve capital among S&P 500 financial services companies, trailing only Berkshire Hathaway. According to company calculations, MicroStrategy’s total reserve capital—comprising Bitcoin and $6.7 billion in dollar-denominated assets—reaches approximately $72.3 billion.
CEO Phong Le stated that net leverage has been reduced to zero percent, as dollar assets nearly match the company’s total debt. Despite the accumulation of assets, MicroStrategy shares recently experienced a slight decline, trading lower than the price movement of Bitcoin itself.
