Strategy Inc. to resume Bitcoin purchases following recent sales
Strategy Inc. CEO Phong Le has announced that the company intends to resume Bitcoin accumulation later this year. While the firm has sold portions of its holdings since May to meet financial obligations and support its STRC preferred stock, Le noted that the company’s buying volume remains approximately 25 times higher than its sales volume this year.
Executive Chairman Michael Saylor has introduced a new conceptual framework for digital assets, categorizing them into a four-tier monetary spectrum. In this model, Bitcoin is defined as ‘Digital Capital,’ Strategy’s STRC is ‘Digital Credit,’ the SR-strcUSX token is ‘Digital Money,’ and Tether (USDT) is ‘Digital Currency.’ Saylor uses an oil-refining analogy to explain how financial engineering can transform volatile capital into more stable, usable financial products.
However, the company’s recent capital management has drawn criticism from market analyst Peter Schiff. Schiff warned that Michael Saylor may be forced to sell significantly more Bitcoin and MSTR shares to drive the price of STRC back toward its $100 target, arguing that these sales could negatively impact both Bitcoin and MSTR shareholders.
