MicroStrategy's Bitcoin Treasury Losses Deepen as Prices Fall

DDC Enterprise increased its corporate Bitcoin holding by buying 90 BTC, bringing its treasury to a total of 2,804 BTC amid a market correction that pushed Bitcoin below $63,000.

Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) remains the largest public holder of Bitcoin, with about 843,000 BTC on its balance sheet. The recent dip in Bitcoin’s price has turned the company’s Bitcoin stash into an $11 billion unrealized loss, the biggest in its history. Between May 26 and May 31 the firm sold 32 BTC – its first sale since 2022 – to fund dividend payments on its preferred‑stock instrument STRC.

The broader sector of Bitcoin‑treasury companies suffered a collective loss of roughly $62 billion in market value as Bitcoin fell and spot ETFs recorded consecutive outflows exceeding $4 billion. Analysts note that institutional investors, including Strategy and U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs, have shifted massive Bitcoin supply to their wallets, but the price remains pressured by continued selling pressure and macro‑economic uncertainty.
