MicroVision begins commercial production and shipping of MOVIA Pro lidar sensors

MicroVision has commenced commercial production of its MOVIA Pro short-range lidar sensor. Manufacturing is currently underway at the company’s Orlando facility, and the company has begun shipping units to meet customer demand.

The MOVIA Pro sensor features onboard perception, allowing it to process sensor data directly on the device rather than relying solely on external computers. It utilizes an open software framework, enabling customers to develop, deploy, and update specific applications. MicroVision is targeting several sectors for this technology, including aerial systems, intelligent infrastructure, industrial automation, security, and defense.

In a separate strategic move, MicroVision has entered into an exclusive alliance with Blue-Band LLC. This partnership aims to integrate MicroVision’s short- and long-range lidar technology with Blue-Band’s intelligent traffic platform to support applications such as traffic monitoring, road hazard detection, and infrastructure modernization.
