Mid-American Conference football updates and upcoming UMass vs. Miami matchup
The Mid-American Conference (MAC) football season continues with significant shifts in the standings. UMass, which began the year with a historic 4-0 start, suffered its first loss of the season to Eastern Michigan with a score of 38-14. The Minutemen are scheduled to host Miami University on October 10.
Miami University enters the matchup following a loss to Bowling Green. The RedHawks hold a strong historical record within the MAC, including 17 conference championships. Head coach Chuck Martin, who has won more games at Miami than any other coach in program history, leads a roster that features significant turnover, with over 46% of the players being new this season.
Elsewhere in the conference, Central Michigan holds a 3-2 record after defeating Akron. Despite a struggling passing game, the Chippewas have relied on quarterback Angelo Flores, who leads MAC quarterbacks in rushing yards. Toledo remains a dominant force, leading the conference in scoring and total offensive yards.
