Mid-Hudson Bridge construction to cause overnight delays
The New York State Bridge Authority has announced a new round of construction on the Mid-Hudson Bridge, connecting Poughkeepsie and Highland. The work will necessitate an alternating traffic pattern, causing delays for motorists.
Scheduled roadwork will occur during three specific overnight windows: from 10pm on Thursday, October 8, until 5am on Friday, October 9; from 10pm on Friday, October 9, until 10am on Saturday, October 10; and from 10pm on Saturday, October 10, until 10am on Sunday, October 11. Authorities noted that Friday and Saturday night projects may extend into the following mornings.
The project aims to repair the bridge's eastern approach on the Poughkeepsie side. This week's specific tasks involve demolishing existing deck sections and installing new asphalt pavement to maintain a safe driving surface.
