Mid-range motorcycle market updates from Aprilia and Yamaha
The mid-range motorcycle market features diverse technical specifications and pricing strategies among major manufacturers.
Aprilia has maintained the Tuono 660 Factory as its sole offering in this segment. The model produces 105 hp and weighs just over 190 kg with a full fuel tank. It features premium components, including Öhlins suspension on both axles and Brembo brakes, which are noted to justify its higher price point compared to competitors. The bike utilizes a 270-degree crank inline twin-cylinder engine and offers a comfortable riding position due to its wide handlebars.
In the Brazilian market, Yamaha is launching the R7 in November with a suggested price of R$ 60,690. This represents a 10.8% price increase over its naked counterpart, the MT-07, marking the largest price gap between naked and faired models in its class. While both motorcycles share the same CP2 twin-cylinder engine, 73.4 hp, and various chassis components, the R7 is distinguished by its full fairing and track-oriented ergonomics.
