Mid-range smartphones bridge the gap with flagship features
The performance gap between high-end flagship smartphones and mid-range devices is narrowing significantly. Recent comparisons between premium models like the Pixel 11 Pro XL and mid-range options such as the Poco X8 Pro show that while luxury materials and superior low-light photography still favor expensive devices, daily performance and display quality are becoming increasingly comparable.
Mid-range devices often feature AMOLED technology, 120 Hz refresh rates, and high brightness levels that rival older flagship models. In some cases, mid-range phones may even offer superior battery life due to larger capacities.
Samsung is leading this trend with its Galaxy A37, which incorporates high-end software features. The device includes “Awesome Intelligence” AI tools, such as Circle to Search and object erasing, and offers up to six years of operating system and security updates, a rarity for this price segment.
