Mid Valley Southkey bomb threat confirmed as hoax

Johor police have confirmed that a bomb threat targeting a business premises at The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru, was a hoax. The threat was delivered via an email sent to the mall's management.

Following the report, bomb disposal units from the Johor Police Contingent Headquarters and Johor Bahru Selatan Police District Headquarters were deployed to the site. Security teams conducted comprehensive sweeps of both the interior and exterior of the premises. While several suspicious objects were discovered during the inspection, bomb disposal experts confirmed they contained no explosive materials. The area has been declared safe.

Johor police chief Ab Rahaman Arsad stated that authorities take all explosive threats seriously to ensure public safety and advised the public to avoid spreading unverified information or speculation.
