Mid West Ports and Plum Grove Logistics Sign 600,000‑ton Grain Export Deal

Mid West Ports Authority and grain exporter Plum Grove Logistics have entered a three‑year Port Access Service Agreement that will allow the export of up to 600,000 tonnes of grain from the Geraldton port in Western Australia. The deal creates a new supply chain that operates alongside CBH’s existing export operations, using the common‑user Berth 6 and providing growers with an additional pathway to overseas markets in Asia and Europe.

During the trial phase, Plum Grove shipped wheat and lupins in four successful loads, delivering about 30,000 tonnes of wheat per shipment and a separate lupin shipment. CEO Andrew Young said the agreement “paves the way” for scaling the model, targeting 150,000‑170,000 tonnes for the 2026/27 harvest if production remains strong. Mid West Ports CEO Damian Tully called the partnership “great news for farmers” and a boost to the region’s export capacity.

The arrangement also required infrastructure upgrades at the port, including a new loader and dust‑extraction unit, and compliance with environmental and operational standards set by the port and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
