MIDA implements agricultural training programs across Panama

The Ministry of Agricultural Development (MIDA) in Panama is conducting a series of technical training sessions and field visits to strengthen agricultural productivity and sustainability across various regions.

In Colón, producers received training on the agronomic management, harvesting, and pest control of robusta coffee. In the Chepo district, MIDA organized a workshop for 21 producers from the Guna de Madugandí indigenous community, focusing on sustainable cocoa production techniques, including soil management and pruning.

Other initiatives include a technical tour of the Guai Agrosustainable Farm in Capira to demonstrate successful small-scale fruit and poultry production. Additionally, in Los Santos, MIDA held a field day in San Luis to provide guidance on fertilizer use, soil and water analysis, citrus pruning, and animal health, specifically regarding the prevention of the screwworm fly.
