MIDA real estate registry to enter pilot phase soon
The Real Estate Ownership and Management Registry (MIDA) is undergoing testing with the goal of launching a pilot program within the next two months. The system is designed to allow property owners to manually link their E9 tax declarations with their Land Registry entries.
Under the new system, owners will view E9 data and Land Registry records on a single screen to identify and connect matching properties. The application will not automatically match these records; instead, the owner must indicate which E9 tax ID corresponds to which Land Registry unique property code.
Once properties are matched, owners must declare the current use of each property, such as whether it is owner-occupied, vacant, rented as a residence or professional space, or available for short-term rental. For rental properties, the system will require owners to confirm which existing leases remain active. Any errors found in tax-related data must be corrected through the E9 application rather than within MIDA.
