Arab League approves Yemen development fund amid regional diplomacy

During the 166th ministerial session of the Arab League in Cairo, the Arab League Council unanimously approved the establishment of an Arab fund to finance Yemen's development needs and urgent infrastructure projects. Yemeni Foreign Minister Dr. Afrah Al-Zoubi emphasized that national stability is tied to sustainable recovery and reconstruction efforts.

Regarding Lebanon, Qatar has reaffirmed its support for the country's stability and territorial integrity. Discussions also addressed the future of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). Following UN Security Council Resolution 2790, UNIFIL's mandate will be extended until December 31, 2026, as a final extension, after which a planned, organized, and safe one-year withdrawal process will begin.

In bilateral diplomacy, Egypt and Bangladesh have discussed strengthening ties, with Egypt expressing support for Bangladesh's upcoming presidency of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. The two nations aim to expand cooperation in sectors including pharmaceuticals, textiles, aquaculture, and leather industries, while exploring links between the Suez Canal Economic Zone and Bangladeshi economic zones.
