Middle East conflict drives global economic uncertainty

The ongoing conflict in the Middle East is creating significant global economic uncertainty, according to Alejandro Rassam Baroudi. The lack of a defined end date for the confrontations makes it difficult to establish precise economic projections or anticipate the behavior of financial markets and exchange rates.

One of the primary impacts is the volatility in oil prices, which triggers secondary effects on production costs, freight, and logistics. These rising costs affect various segments of the supply chain, potentially altering how consumer goods are moved and made available.

While the economic landscape for 2026 remains unpredictable, Baroudi noted that some of the current negative effects could potentially reverse in 2027, depending on how international circumstances evolve.
