Middle East nations expand defense and security cooperation
Several Middle Eastern and Asian nations are strengthening military and defense ties through new agreements and discussions. Egypt has pledged support to Saudi Arabia as the Egyptian parliament deliberates the potential deployment of troops to assist its Gulf ally, signaling a deepening strategic partnership aimed at regional stability.
In a separate development, Qatar has signed the Badr memorandum of understanding with Turkiye, Pakistan, and Indonesia. This agreement focuses on deepening defense industry cooperation through joint production, technology transfers, and integrated supply chains. The initiative, which aims to enhance military manufacturing and technical training, is designed to be open to additional participating countries.
