Middle East security shifts as Iran drone threats impact US bases and UAE infrastructure

Recent Iranian missile and drone attacks against US installations in the Middle East have highlighted the vulnerability of large-scale military bases located near the Iranian coast. To protect critical energy and logistics infrastructure, the UAE has begun installing large metal cages around fuel reservoirs at Dubai International Airport and key energy sites in Abu Dhabi. Inspired by methods used in Ukraine, these structures act as shields to intercept drones and trigger explosions at a distance from the actual tanks, mitigating damage to vital economic hubs.
